This recent clamor for Joe Biden’s removal as the Democratic candidate raises some thoughts.
There are two entities: 1) the Biden administration and 2) the Biden campaign. While the two are distinct, there is obviously overlap between them.
It appears that people in the Biden campaign decided to take Biden out. They orchestrated with the media to raise the call for Biden’s removal. Did this call blindside the Biden administration?
The Biden administration has been dealing with Joe Biden’s decline throughout his entire presidency. So they thought dealing with his declining condition was manageable. But clearly people within the campaign do not think so.
The administration clearly thinks that the only option for replacing Biden would be Harris. And that is untenable to them. In fact, Harris has been almost completely sidelined by the administration.
The campaign apparently either thinks that putting Harris at the top of the ticket would not be an issue or that replacing Biden with someone other than Harris would not be a problem.
Right now there’s a lot of infighting between the campaign and the administration as to how Biden’s declining condition affects things going forward.
Then this news came out. The Biden family and their consiglieres are convening at Camp David this weekend. To discuss what? Whether Biden stays in the race? That’s the speculation. If so, the Biden family has to carefully consider the implications for their family crime syndicate. Stepping aside as the nominee means that Joe would have to get serious about wrapping up the investigations into his family, pardoning Hunter and himself and other family members. They might have to go so far as to wind down the syndicate since members won’t be able to use Biden’s influence.
Weighty decisions will be made in the next several weeks.
